Bradgate - Specialising In The Rail SectorLatest News

Bradgate Containers design and manufacture a wide range of specialist equipment including containers and modules used in the rail sector.

At Bradgate, we’ve provided specialist equipment for a range of rail businesses, including major projects such as East Coast, and Midland Mainline.

Network Rail’s approval process is rigorous, but all our equipment is tried tested and approved.

Visit our Rail Sector Case Studies page to read about our previous rail sector projects in more detail.

Our Specialist Equipment

There are two options for railway equipment modules from Bradgate: fully welded or bonded panel. Our modules are all-steel fabrications with well-proven bonded-panel or fully welded construction – we can recommend the more suitable option according to your project’s individual specifications.

At Bradgate, we are able to manufacture modules adhering to the BR1615D rail specification, and the Network Rail specification 21030. Our bonded panel modules are built to Network Rail specification 21030, and approved for 60 years with a low maintenance track side life. Our fully welded modules can be designed as single or multi-room containers, designed to accommodate switchgear, UPS and batteries.

Additionally, the re-locatable equipment buildings (REB) that we design and manufacture at Bradgate can be moved and repositioned as upgrade projects take shape and require change. Bradgate REB designs include four integral lift lugs at roof level, so there’s no need for special lift frames.

Growth In The Rail Sector

The Rail Delivery Group reported in 2016 that Britain’s fleet of trains could almost double by 2045 due to rising passenger demand. The changes in trend, with providers looking at moving solely to electric or hybrid engines, By 2034, it is estimated the number of electrically-powered vehicles will rise from 70% to 90%.

This increase in the number of trains will undoubtedly mean there will need to be improvements made to the current rail infrastructure in the coming decades. By investing in Bradgate modules and containers, you are guaranteed a piece of equipment that will change with you and your machinery’s needs over time, and is fully adaptable.
