Generators are large, noisy and potentially dangerous, so where they are sited and how they are protected demands special care. Bradgate builds generator canopies to protect both the machinery and those who work with it from noise, vibration and the risk of fire. Our enclosures can also provide protection from the weather as well as security, safe access and ventilation.
Weather canopies
- 1.6mm zintec steel body preformed into sections and welded to form a rigid structure (a heavier gauge is used when structurally or acoustically necessary)
- Aspiration and cooling air flow are provided via mesh or ‘fixed’ weather louvred apertures
- Access doors can be fitted on both sides and the rear, if required, and include anti-rattle pads, slam-lock fastening, and a chromium handle
- Viewing windows can be built into the doors for visual access to items such as generator control panel.

EC acoustic canopies
Manufactured to the same high specification as the weather canopy, these structures also have:
- Acoustic 50mm resin-bonded mineral fibre faced with 1.0mm galvanised perforated steel applied to the doors and roof (to ensure that the structure meets European Community noise regulations)
- Acoustic louvres or baffles for aspiration and cooling air flow
- Flexible canvas plenums to interconnect radiators to outlets
- Access doors with a compression-type seal.

Acoustic canopies
Manufactured to the same high specification as the weather canopy, these structures also have:
- Acoustic 50/100mm resin-bonded mineral fibre (density 45/kg/m3) faced with galvanised perforated steel
- Acoustic splitters or baffles to provide aspiration and cooling air flow
- Flexible canvas plenums to interconnect radiators to outlets
- Access doors with a compression type seal
- Double glazed viewing windows.

Demountable canopies
Where a demountable canopy is required, acoustic panels are bolted to hollow box-steel frames, which, in turn, are bolted together. We recommend that demountable canopies are finished in primer for delivery and the top-coat applied after the final assembly on site.
Fire resistance
All Bradgate panels are constructed of noncombustible materials and satisfy Class 1 Spread of Flames requirements.
